About the role

As a Senior Technical Artist, your main focus will be to bridge the gap between the artistic vision of the team and the technical capabilities of the devices we are working on. You will ensure that the visual quality meets expectations while staying within the performance limits of the target platforms. By working closely with artists and developers, you will create tools, shaders, and solutions that help the team achieve their goals efficiently and effectively.

Your responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing shaders, VFX, and technical solutions to achieve desired visual effects for game assets and environments

  • Creating custom tools in Unity to streamline workflows for both artistic and development teams

  • Testing your work to ensure it’s bug-free and integrated seamlessly into the project environment

  • Collaborating with artists and developers to design efficient and visually stunning solutions tailored to project requirements

  • Optimizing assets and scenes to improve rendering performance across platforms, including mobile

  • Providing technical support and guidance to artists and developers on technical art challenges

  • Analyzing and solving complex rendering and asset issues

  • Maintaining technical documentation and ensuring that pipelines and resources are optimized for efficiency

  • Staying updated on new developments in rendering, shaders, and Unity technology to ensure best practices are applied.

Job requirements

We will be a match if you…

  • have extensive experience as a Technical Artist, with a solid understanding of Unity systems and tools

  • are highly skilled in shader development (CG, ShaderLab, Shader Graph, postprocessing, and VFX)

  • possess practical knowledge of linear algebra, vector operations, transformations, and procedural rendering techniques

  • are experienced in optimizing assets and scenes for a variety of platforms, including mobile

  • have advanced skills in C# and developing custom Unity editor tools to improve team workflows

  • are proficient in 3D modeling tools, including high and low-poly modeling, unwrapping, baking, and texturing

  • have a strong understanding of rendering optimization for mobile devices

  • are familiar with tools for performance analysis and have expertise in debugging rendering issues

  • demonstrate high-level artistic skills, including a keen eye for proportion, color, and composition

  • are detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills, allowing you to collaborate across teams.

Additional assets:

  • Practical knowledge of compute shaders

  • Knowledge of VR rendering concepts for devices like Meta Quest, etc.
